The IRONMAN Triathlon Series is held to bring the very best of triathlon and entertainment to Astana on 16 – 17 June 2018. Over 1000 athletes from 47 countries had a chance to meet and compete for the title of IRONMAN.

Traditionally, the race started with kids aged between 5 and 17 years competing in run and duathlon. Children showed high sports activity and cheered the celebration.

The distance race of 70.3 miles or 113 km was a fast and furious event as the electric atmosphere made for an exciting day. The race course takes in the waters and surrounds of the Esil River, after 1.9 km of swimming athletes headed to cycling with all views young capital can offer. After 90km on their bikes, the athletes will head to the final 21.1km fast and furious run in one of the best parks specially designed for triathlon- Astana Triathlon Park.

Among professional athletes, famous people of Kazakhstan took part in such an enormous and remarkable event for our country.

Uniquely, the capital is the first city of CIS countries where the race of IRONMAN series was held. The race is an exciting addition to the city atmosphere and opens doors for athletes from all over the world to experience this unique and exciting region.
